Potlikker Film Festival: Houston

Saturday, July 21, at St. Arnold’s Brewery in Houston, Texas, the Southern Foodways Alliance presents the Potlikker Film Festival. The festival will present some of the films of SFA filmaker Joe York and Houston filmmaker Maureen McNamara.

Of course, there will be food from Houston chefs and beer from St. Arnold’s as well. Best of all, a taco truck will be there serving authentic tacos. Throw in air conditioning, and you got yourself one heck of an evening, all for only $40.

This will be an excellent chance to see some of Joe York’s best films. The only thing better would be if John T. and the SFA produced a box set of their films. (This is how grass roots movements start. Repeat after me, “Birth of a Cornbread Nation”.)

Hurry up and head over to the SFA website to print and fax in the registration form. SFA events are justifiably popular and sell out early.
