Kelly English — F&W’s Best New Chefs

Congratulations to local chef Kelly English of Restaurant Iris on being named one of Food and Wine magazine’s ten Best New Chefs for 2009.

Previously, Kelly has received well deserved praise, including a glowing review from Memphis Magazine and a rare four star rating from the Commercial Appeal. This latest recognition, however, puts Kelly on an entirely new, and larger, stage. Kelly is among tremendous company as previous winners include Daniel Boulud, Thomas Keller, and Kelly’s mentor John Besh.

We are tremendously proud of Kelly and the entire staff of Restaurant Iris. We just worry that we won’t get to see them much because those reservations will be harder to get than ever.
