Our neighbors rock!
Recently, there came an unexpected knock at our door. When we answered it, we found that our neighbors Collin and La had come to pay us a visit along with their sweet puppy, Roxy. In addition to a leash, they had in hand a gift for us, fresh greens from their backyard and a beautiful card.
We had the greens with a bit of Vidalia onion dressing. We also had a sirloin steak with blue cheese melted over it and steamed asparagus sprinkled with a bit of sea salt. Dinner was great, but it was the greens that made it. Nah, not the greens. It was our neighbors that made the meal.
I’m growing heirloom tomatoes, cayenne peppers, and various herbs here in Memphis. Perhaps some sort of pot luck dinner is in order later in the season?
I am so glad you liked them. We got them to you just in time. Now that the heat is picking up, everything is starting to bolt. I don’t know what we will do without an unending supply of greens out the back door.
This potluck idea sounds good. We should all stay in touch about this.
